Meet Tom
Tom
Wetzel is a native of West Virginia, having lived in several states
due to his father's occupation. He graduated from high school
in Niagara Falls, NY. Tom holds a BA and MA from West Virginia
University, an MA from Niagara University, completed a doctoral
study from Case Western Reserve University, and a Ph.D. from Century
University.
Tom was director of the Ohio Edison Speakers' Bureau, director
of marketing and public relations in healthcare and served 20
years in West Virginia state government, including Governor Cecil
Underwood's administration. Tom also worked for Congressmen William
Miller and Henry P. Smith of New York. He was elected to three
terms on the Hudson, Ohio Board of Education.
Tom has received several national awards, including the George
Washington Medal of Honor, Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge,
Daughters of the American Revolution National Award and is listed
in several Who's Who directories. He was named Distinguished West
Virginian by Governor Arch Moore and is an Admiral in the Cherry
River Navy.
Tom has been an adjunct professor at colleges and universities
in New York, Ohio and West Virginia. He now resides in Southport,
North Carolina and teaches at Brunswick Community College.
